Kauai All-Island Band

Kaua`i All-Island Band

About Us

This is a band made up of students from the Island of Kaua'i.  Students in the band are from various middle schools, high schools, and Kaua`i Community College.  The band was formed to provide the young musicians of Kaua`i with the opportunity to travel around the world.  In 2005, Ku Kulakila, the Kaua'i All-Island Marching Band Performed in the 2005 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, under the leadership of the late Larry L. McIntosh.  The band was revived in 2016 and travelled to Washington, D.C in May of 2016 to perform for thousands of people in the 2016 National Memorial Day Parade and Concert Series.  They also performed in historic Gettysburg Battlefield at the National Historic Park's Visitor's Center.  It was the first band from Hawai`i ever to participate in the National Memorial Day Parade.  In December of 2017, the band travelled to the Holiday Bowl Game and Parade.  There they competed in the field show competition, parade, and participated in the halftime show massed band at the football game.  The band won Third Place in the Field Show Competition: AA Division and First Place in the Parade Competition: AA Division.  Students also participated in a clinic with a local college band director and toured college campuses. We were supposed to travel to Japan in June of 2020 but that trip was unfortunately cancelled because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Our next trip will be to Oʻahu to perform in the 2026 Kamehameha Day Parade and the 2026 Pan Pacific Festival Parade!  Students interested in participating must have one year of previous experience in band or with permission by the band directors.  Students can be as young as a 7th grader in the 2026-2027 School Year or as old as college sophomore attending Kaua`i Community College.  Students must be enrolled in their school's band or in an ensemble at Kaua`i Community College.  Students who are college freshmen enrolled in colleges off Kaua`i may participate if they participate in their college music programs and can participate in our two summer camps.  Please contact us for more information about enrolling, [email protected]
